From Santa Fe, Argentina, Mateo brings a Latin flavor to the staff at Frontenac, where his easygoing manner and smooth South American strokes make him a perennial favorite.
Mateo graduated from McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, where his tennis accomplishments brought him both the MVP and 110% awards. He was also the assistant coach of the women's team.
He's continued his winning ways into his teaching career: for the last seven years, from 2001-2008, he's been one of the top doubles player in the St. Louis area.
At Frontenac since 2002, Mateo runs the summer program at John Burroughs School and has been part of Terry Ward's team at Old Warson Country Club since 2003.
