Hailing from Santa Fe, Argentina, Mateo taught at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. More recently, he's taught at Creve Coeur and been the assistant women's coach at McKendree College.
That's also where played his college tennis, earning MVP honors for the Men's Tennis Team in 2001.
