The Frontenac Way

About Us

The Sweet Spot for St. Louis Tennis since 1974. Maybe we’ve just been having too much fun on the courts to notice, but it’s hard to believe we’ve been around that long! It makes sense though because at Frontenac, it really is all about the tennis. So of course you’ll find everything you’d expect at a first-rate tennis club: Ten very nicely lit indoor courts as well as complete locker-room facilities with private showers. Plus daytime child care-courtesy of every little kid’s best friend, Pam Busch. But more importantly, you’ll find great people to play with, some of the best pros in the business and a wealth of programs and activities to help you develop the best game you’ve ever had. And it all happens in a relaxed, casual atmosphere that’s as much about family fun as it is about winning matches. So if you’re looking for a place to play, download our application and join Frontenac Racquet Club today. Already a member? Download our brochures and pick a tennis clinic, or play in a game.

Our Space

Built in 1974, FRC boasts a beautiful brick exterior and spacious parking lot.The 25,000 sq. ft building is nestled in the heart of Frontenac, located right off Highway 40.

The FRC interior is one of a kind. With 8 carpet courts and the best lighting in town, not only is your game protected, but so is your body.

The carpet courts ease joint impact and offer a premier tennis experience. Additionally, the lobby and snack bar were remodeled in 2012. With a full liquor license and a comfortable lounge, the inviting atmosphere welcomes you to kickback and relax after playing.

Training Facility

Hosting two hard courts, as well as a complimentary rally court, the training facility was a welcomed addition to FRC’s establishment. Built in 2011, the facility offers an alternative to the 8 indoor carpet courts and provides more room for clinics, lessons and personal court time. Looking to perfect your strokes? The newly added video playback technology offers you the opportunity to gain visual feedback while you play.

Locker Rooms

Need a quick rinse after your game? Our locker rooms are fully equipped with two showers as well as comfortable seating and spacious changing areas. In fact, our Ladies’ LockerRoom was remodeled in 2009 to better serve our members’ taste.

Day Care

Alongside our very own sister club Woodsmill, FRC is the only club to offer childcare in St. Louis. With a colorful mural animating the walls and an abundance of toys, your child is sure to be smiling while you’re out on the court. Presiding over this children’s paradise:the comforting presence of Pam Busch, a seasoned child-care expert with grown children of her own.

The Sweet Spot for St.Louis tennis since 1974. Because at Frontenac, it really is all about the tennis.

See what people are saying!

Each person I meet at FRC is kinder than the last! You do an awesome job of hiring and fostering a cheerful and kind ambiance! Clark asks about the boys, Jen thoughtfully tries to pick a class for Cam, Stefan adjusts the ball machine that is attacking me, and on and on and on. Nostradamus pales in comparison to FRC! I thought you’d like to know..“

"I wanted you both to know that yesterday was an epiphany for me, thanks to you! I had such fun playing tennis and for the first time felt almost proficient! The ladies I played with were darling and we all felt perfectly matched. Thank you for all the thoughtful and caring training that led me to such a happy day!"

"Hi Terry! Happy New Year 2020 to you and your family as well. During several visits to the club I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with several of your kids. You and you wife did a great job raising them! All very personable and welcoming. Met lots of very nice, new friends as well! Joining FRC in 2019 was definitely a highlight of my year. Thanks for creating such a special place!"

"Hey Terry,

Just wanted to write a quick note to tell you what a great ambassador you have in Michael Lesko, as I’m sure you’re already aware.

Kim Marchant asked if I could sub in her 4.5 team practice since my team is temporarily COVID-disbanded, and I regularly hit with some members of her team (e.g., Lotta Fox and Sharon Gunter, to name a couple).  A few hours before the practice, one of her players was called into work unexpectedly, leaving her short (we all tried finding someone, to no avail).  Walking to the court, I saw Michael hitting with his friends - i.e., he was off the clock - and texted to see if he could possibly be our 8th when he finished.

He not only saved the day, but also charmed everyone on court with both his play and personality - and of course everyone always wants to know more about someone who does that! - which means I got to brag about the shop, the places, and the programs with which he is affiliated.

You really know how to find and retain talent, though: Michael is not just a great ambassador for the shop, FRC, and Woodsmill, but for tennis as well - his love for the sport is always apparent!"

Thank you,
